We invite clinicians, researchers, fellows, residents, and students to submit abstracts for presentation at ICRAPAIN. This is an opportunity to showcase original work, interesting clinical observations, innovations in pain practice, and academic contributions in the field of pain medicine.

Authors are encouraged to submit well-structured abstracts that are clear, concise, and scientifically sound.

Who Can Submit

Abstract submissions are welcome from:

Pain physicians
Anaesthesiologists
PM&R specialists
Neurologists
Orthopaedic specialists
Palliative care specialists
Fellows and residents
Medical students
Researchers and allied healthcare professionals working in pain medicine or related disciplines

Categories of Submission

Abstracts may be submitted under one of the following categories:

Original Research
Case Report / Case Series
Review / Educational / Practice Innovation
Quality Improvement / Audit
Interventional Pain Technique / Technical Innovation

General Submission Rules

The abstract must be submitted in English.
The work must be original and should not contain fabricated, plagiarized, or misleading data.
The submitting author must ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the abstract before submission.
The presenting author must be prepared to present the work if the abstract is accepted.
Abstracts must be submitted in the prescribed structured format.
The maximum word limit is 300 words, excluding the title, author names, affiliations, and keywords.
Tables, graphs, references, and images are not to be included in the abstract body unless specifically requested by the conference.
Use standard abbreviations only. When an abbreviation first appears, write it in full followed by the abbreviation in parentheses.
Generic drug names should be used wherever possible.
Any ethical approval, patient consent, or institutional permission required for the work should have been obtained by the authors before submission.
Previously presented work may be considered only if clearly declared at the time of submission.
Submission of an abstract does not automatically guarantee acceptance.
The scientific committee reserves the right to accept, reject, or reassign the abstract to the most suitable category or presentation format.

Abstract Format

Please prepare the abstract using the following structure.

1. Title

Keep the title clear, specific, and concise.
Avoid unnecessary abbreviations in the title.
Use sentence case or title case consistently.

2. Author Details

Provide:

Full name of all authors
Institutional affiliation(s)
City and country
Email address of the corresponding author

3. Abstract Body

The abstract body should be limited to 300 words and should follow the format below depending on the type of submission.

Provide 3 to 5 keywords.

Formatting Instructions

Font: Arial or Times New Roman
Font size: 12 pt
Line spacing: Single
Alignment: Left aligned
Avoid bullet points inside the abstract body unless absolutely necessary.
Do not include references in the abstract unless specifically requested.
Please check spelling, grammar, and consistency before submission.

Ethical and Scientific Responsibility

By submitting an abstract, the authors confirm that:

The work is their own original contribution.
All listed authors have made an appropriate academic contribution.
The data presented are accurate to the best of their knowledge.
Required ethical approvals and informed consent have been obtained where applicable.
The work does not violate copyright or academic integrity standards.

Any breach of ethical standards may lead to rejection or withdrawal of the abstract.

Review and Selection Process

All submitted abstracts will undergo review by the scientific committee. Abstracts will be evaluated on the basis of:

Relevance to pain medicine
Originality
Scientific or educational value
Clarity of presentation
Practical significance

Accepted abstracts may be selected for:

Oral presentation
Poster presentation
E-poster presentation

The final mode of presentation will be decided by the scientific committee.

Presentation Rules for Accepted Abstracts

At least one author should register for the conference if the abstract is accepted.
The presenting author should ensure that the final presentation is accurate, ethical, and consistent with the submitted abstract.
Minor editorial corrections may be permitted, but major changes in data or conclusions after acceptance are discouraged.
Detailed presentation instructions will be shared with accepted authors separately.

Sample Structured Abstract Format

Title: Ultrasound-guided intervention in chronic pelvic pain: a prospective observational study

Background: Chronic pelvic pain remains a challenging condition with significant functional impact.
Objectives: To evaluate the clinical usefulness of ultrasound-guided intervention in selected patients with chronic pelvic pain.
Methods: A prospective observational study was conducted on patients undergoing intervention at a tertiary pain centre. Pain scores and functional outcomes were assessed before and after treatment.
Results: Most patients demonstrated meaningful pain reduction and improvement in daily function at follow-up.
Conclusion: Ultrasound-guided intervention appears to be a feasible and promising option in selected patients with chronic pelvic pain.
